Christmas Instant Mix 2024 is a collaborative publishing project by artists Miru Bahc and Dahwa Jeon, painter in Seoul. Using the social script of 'Christmas' as a medium, the project attempts to build solidarity by sharing fragile emotions and resisting the othering of Palestine.
In the face of the global silence surrounding mass genocide and suffering, the artists often felt a profound sense of helplessness—where even private tears felt like a shameful luxury. In response, Jeon created ‘crying ornaments’ to shed tears on behalf of those suffering.
The publication expanded into a series of monthly workshops held over five months, from August to December 2025.
Participants gathered to craft their own weeping ornaments and collectively read texts published in Gaza. Through this process, Bahc and Jeon sought to create moments of social intervention, temporarily connecting strangers and transforming those encounters into lasting threads of solidarity.
